MEET OUR K9 TRAIN STATION MANAGER.
Monica Johnny has been teaching dog training to the residents of Simcoe County since 1979. Monica has taught many levels of obedience and dog sports over the years and is always adding new and exciting exercises to her lessons.
Monica has had the privilege of teaching at some of the best schools in the area. Being a founding member of the Simcoe County Obedience Club in Barrie and teaching there for ten years , then onto Classic Canine Academy and most recently under her banner of Know Better Dogs as well as teaching Flyball and her ever popular K9 Manners Class at Top Dog Canine Services on Huronia rd in Barrie

Monica has bred and shown over 30 English Springer Spaniel champions, and has trailed 11 obedience dogs to over 30 titles including St poodles and a Pomeranian . She has raced 14 flyball dogs to over 40 titles. Monica’s Mini Aussie Jiffy has over 70.000 nafa points and is the top pointed F mini aussie in the world. Trace her retired Border Collie is still in the top 100 flyball dogs and her Whippet Wings is mother to the world’s fastest dog, the first ever to run a flyball course under 3.5 seconds with a 3.477 time, running in anchor on Stampede Flyball Team in Utah USA.
Monica was instrumental in the production of a 12 week obedience class that aired on Cable tv from 1995 to the year 2000. Monica makes her living as a dog groomer and trainer and has done so for over 33 years now. Monica is comfortable working with all breeds of dogs and their people. She has vast experience with high energy canines and has helped many owners keep their pets rather than have to rehome or even euthanize them. Monica knows dog behaviour and recognizes the small signals dogs give us when they are frustrated or bored with their training . Monica can help you with basic training , housetraining, advanced obedience and behaviour modification.
Monica has been involved in the sport of Flyball as a competitor since 1989 and as a judge since 2000. Monica teaches basic and advanced Flyball and offers Flyball Board-and-Train to those wanting help preparing a dog for racing or for problem solving.
Monica shares her life and times with several dogs including Shine the flyball Chihuahua, Wings the whippet, Bindi and Jiffy Mini Aussies, Yahtzee her performance bred mix breed and Bryte and Trace the Border Collies. Monica still enjoys the challenges of dog training and grooming and now offers her services exclusively at The Train Station.
